Nature and Culture of Phang Nga

This excursion offers many different experiences and impressions in one day.

First we go to Ban Nam Khem, a fishing village in the north of Khao Lak. Here we visit the Tsunami Memorial Park. This park is located by the sea, near the port. The monument is shaped like a wave and is meant to commemorate the victims of the 2004 tsunami.

Now it's off to Sri Phang Nga National Park. After a short hike we reach the most beautiful waterfall of Phang Nga where you can take a swim. Lunch in a local restaurant. The next highlight is a canoe trip through the so-called "Little Amazon" area. A special experience since you can find the ancient Banyan trees there and you may also see animals such as monkeys, mangrove snakes, herons, and monitor lizards.

After that we drive to the historic city of Takuapa, where you can find relics from the time of tin mining everywhere. We visit a typical Buddhist temple complex with a golden chedi, a Chinese temple, and walk through the historic old town where time seems to stand still.

A day with many different impressions is coming to an end.

Discover the beauty of Phang Nga Bay with its many islands, rocks and never-ending mangrove forests.

We will go by a traditional "long-tail boat” along the mangrove channels to a grotto. With a bit of luck we can see monkeys, monitor lizards and birds. With the canoe (a guide who will paddle is with you), we will bring you through the grotto and experience the mangroves up close, there are crabs and shells to see. We will then continue our journey by boat through the mangrove world until we come to a lonely cave. This cave is special by the incident daylight. Then we take a boat to a small Muslim Village in the mangroves without meeting tourists.

After a delicious lunch we can walk through the village. Afterwards we will bring you to the famous "James Bond Rock” so you can see it and take a picture but we only drive around the island and do not get off. We continue to a sea gypsy village to Koh Panji which we visit through the "back door" where the school, a mosque and the football field is. Then we drive past the rock paintings and through the mangroves back to the pier.

The Khao Sok National Park is part of the largest national park in southern Thailand.

While most tours only go to the district of Khao Sok this tour will bring you to the Cheow Lan Lake (part of the national park) which is further and offers a fantastic panorama. Once there we take a longtail boat for a long cruise across the lake, passing the most beautiful cliffs, small bizarre islands and jungle-covered mountains.

We offer lunch on a floating restaurant in a charming location. Here you will have time to swim and relax before heading back to the dam. A drive to the Khao Sok Valley to a temple, behind the grotto, the canoe tour (you are getting paddled) along the Sok River will follow.
